I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second days of Tishri. Tishrei is the first month of the Jewish civil year, but the seventh month of the ecclesiastical year. In Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means, literally, "head of the year" or "first of the year."
The Jewish New Year is a time to begin introspection, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year.
The shofar is a ram's horn which is blown somewhat like a trumpet. One of the most important observances of this holiday is hearing the sounding of the shofar in the synagogue.
Another popular observance during this holiday is eating apples dipped in honey, a symbol of our wish for a sweet new year.
The common greeting at this time is L'shanah tovah ("for a good year"). This is a shortening of "L'shanah tovah tikatev v'taihatem" which means "May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year."

I remember when I was a child, I was helping my dad develop his black and white photos in our tiny kitchenette in Ukraine. The whole process looked like magic to me then, and the most amazing moment was when I held my breath and waited until the image started to appear on the wet paper. We live in a different world today, but I believe that the magic is still there, you...
